Firmware Linux – Intersil ISL38xx serie (Prism54)
Op deze pagina vind je drivers onder Linux voor apparaten met een Prism54 chipset (Intersil ISL3877/3880/3886/3887/3890), p54 is en driver die Intersil/Conexant Prism54 802.11g wireless LAN chipsets ondersteund, deze is geïntroduceerd vanaf Linux kernel v2.6.24.
p54pci: ondersteund PCI, Mini PCI and CardBus apparaten met een ISL3877, ISL3880, ISL3886 of ISL3890 chipset.
p54usb: ondersteund apparaten met de de eerste generatie ISL3886 chipset (met net2280 bridge), en de tweede generatie ISL3887 chipset.
p54pci en p54usb hebben “niet vrije” firmware nodig om te functioneren, deze firmware wordt daarom ook niet standaard bij een linux distributie toegevoegd.
Installeren van p54pci firmware
1) Als je Raspberry Pi achter het internet zit is het eenvoudig te downloaden met wget , met het commando:
wget https://daemonizer.de/prism54/prism54-fw/fw-softmac/2.13.25.0.arm

2) Het gaat om het .ARM bestand, deze moeten in de firmware folder /lib/firmware/ komen, hij is te verplaatsen met het commando:
sudo mv 2.13.25.0.arm /lib/firmware/isl3886pci
De firmware is op de plaats gezet, als je nu het apparaat loskoppelt en weer koppelt, wordt de firmware geladen!
Installeren van p54usb firmware eerste generatie (ISL3886)
